Know when precise location is used
Creating a location post attaches coordinates to that post. Nearby discovery and local-event participation can also require foreground location. Review the screen before sharing and do not post a home, school, workplace, shelter or repeated routine if doing so could create risk.
Use sensitive-content controls carefully
Mark content as sensitive where appropriate so others see a warning first. Never upload illegal, exploitative or non-consensual material; the sensitive marker does not make prohibited content acceptable.
Meet and attend safely
Verify event details, organizer identity and venue information. Meet new people in a public place, arrange your own transport, tell someone you trust where you are going and leave if the situation feels unsafe. Mapinia is not an emergency service.
Protect messages and accounts
Only continue a conversation with someone you choose to trust. Do not send passwords, verification codes, identity documents, financial details or intimate content. Be cautious of urgent requests, repeated unwanted contact, off-platform payments and fake ticket offers; block and report the account when needed. Official support will not ask for your password or one-time code.
Report and block
Reports are available for supported accounts and content, with categories including spam, abuse, violence, illegal behavior, impersonation, non-consensual content, child safety, self-harm and community safety. Blocking prevents supported visibility and interaction and can be reversed from Settings.
Urgent risk
If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the local emergency service or competent authority first. Preserve relevant evidence only when safe, then report the account or content in Mapinia. For non-urgent safety questions, email support@mapinia.com.
